TG Announces Availability of Wireless Internet Link Device
TG Embedded Systems, LLC, a Cleveland-based developer of embedded systems, with
a focus on wireless Internet access solutions, today announced the availability
of its latest Wireless Internet Link Device (WILD), the Orchid-100, at the LDI
2002 Show in Las Vegas. The Orchid-100 features immediate installation and
setup, without physical cable infrastructure. Service is available nationwide in
most countries throughout the world, via mobile network facilities offered by
numerous carriers.
The Orchid-100 provides an "Always On" connection to the Internet, and
economical data transport fees based on data transmitted and received by the
device, not connect time. "In fact, for low volume applications (< 2MB/month),
the monthly operating cost of the Orchid-100 can be roughly half the cost of a
dialup connection," stated Jeff Spiegler, President of TG, showing and
demonstrating the unit in Las Vegas. "We think that with its no-hassle setup and
Always On connection, it can enable many interesting and profitable extensions
of the Internet into previously unreachable locations," Spiegler continued.
The Orchid-100 is a small, one-box solution, providing a 2-way connection to the
Internet. The unit includes both RS-232 and 10-BaseT connections. More details
can be found here, and
